Live-blogging is a relatively new thing on the internet. My first experience with a live blog was when I ‘attended’ one for a well-known video game conference. I was directed to a page… and I thought to myself, “What’s going on? There’s only static text here!” But then a real-time update came in… and it greatly excited me. “How cool,” I thought, “I’ll know exactly when a new title is announced even before any major gaming news sites pick it up!”

Since then, I’ve been hooked to watching live-blogging events. I’ll still watch ones that take place for major video gaming conference events… but now I also just log into NBA playoff liveblogs and take place in the discussion. It really does give you a sense of community when you’re logged into a liveblog with other people, discussing things…
